Welcome to the Strength Maintenance Training Battalion (SMTB) located at the
Professional Education C
enter (PEC)
in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The SMTB trains the
Army National Guard
Recruiting and Retention Force encompassing recruiting, retention, and attrition management. In addition to qualification training, the Strength Maintenance Training Battalion is the only active-duty NCO academy in the
Army National Guard.

SMTB MISSION STATEMENT
The Strength Maintenance Training Battalion trains, develops, and empowers recruiting and retention professionals across the Army national Guard to execute strength maintenance operations with competence, discipline, and adaptability. We provide standardized, relevant, and outcome-driven instruction that prepares leaders and Soldiers to meet and exceed end strength objectives in support of national and state readiness.
